What is your most cherished memory from 2023?
In October I had an opportunity to travel to South Africa with my business mentorship group. This was a bucket list trip for me as I love seeing animals in the wild. South Africa is a stunning country, adorned with stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, vibrant cities, and warm-hearted people. The safaris, offered a profound connection with nature; we observing animals thriving in the wild despite the challenges posed by humanity, climate change, and limited space. This experience served as a poignant reminder of the critical importance of conservation. Sustainability has always been an important core value at Thrive, and this trip reinforced its significance. What added to the richness of the adventure was sharing it with fellow business owners from my mentorship group. The animals’ resilience paralleled the daily challenges in business—a continual game of learning, adaptability, and survival. My mentorship group, my steadfast pack throughout the years, has provided incredible support and advice, contributing to my growth as a business owner.
What was the greatest challenge your business overcame in 2023?
Each business faces new challenges each year, and this year proved no exception for us. Thrive Electrify is a company that is growing quickly as we have a clear vision of where we are headed and what we want to achieve in the next three years. Rapid growth necessitated significant changes, including adjustments to leadership roles and procedures, to facilitate Thrive’s expansion and maintain the promised service levels for every client. Embracing change can be challenging for any team, but ours met the challenge head-on. The acceptance and resilience of every employee at Thrive really showed me that our core value of “Teamwork” was important to them. Our culture continues to unite us, our “why” drives us all toward success.
What was the greatest challenge you personally overcame in 2023?
Maintaining a positive mindset is something I always continue to work on. Growing a business is challenging for anyone, especially when things don’t turn out as planned. Keeping a positive outlook, irrespective of the challenges, is crucial to keeping my team in good spirits. The effort I put into fostering a positive mindset has proven instrumental in overcoming a diverse range of challenges.
What was Thrive’s greatest accomplishment in 2023?
Throughout 2023, our focus was dedicated to assembling an outstanding leadership team. I am thrilled about collaborating with the new team to bring our Vivid Vision to life. Our recently appointed Operations Manager, Phillip Chadwick, is particularly enthusiastic about leading the integration of our Vivid Vision. Phillip’s journey from electrical foreperson to operations manager this year underscores his dedication. Boasting over 14 years in the electrical industry as a Red Seal electrician and a background in computer science, Phillip brings a unique blend of expertise. His extensive industry experience, coupled with advanced technological knowledge, positions Thrive for an accelerated journey toward realizing its vision in the coming years.
